I’m dusting off an old favorite — the dirty martini. Since a martini is mostly gin or vodka,* the quality of the spirit matters a lot. I’m not much of a gin fan, so vodka it is. I love Tito’s Handmade Vodka when I can get it, but otherwise I go with Grey Goose.
* I don’t even like to add vermouth, since it’s too easy to go overboard.
Just a slight twist on a classic vodka martini, a dirty martini includes a splash of olive juice, and I like to garnish mine with a blue cheese stuffed olive. Cheers!
1 1/2 oz. vodka
splash of olive juice
blue cheese-stuffed olive
Add vodka and olive juice to a shaker filled with plenty of ice. Shake until very cold and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with olive.
